ShelfToWorld turns DVDs, Blu-rays, 4K discs, CDs, books, magazines, comics, manga, board games, and physical video games into a neighborhood-scale rental store that ships in a padded envelope, with a prepaid return label in the parcel.
Shipping is US addresses only. “World” is the brand aspiration — not international logistics.
How a loan works
List what’s on your shelf
Condition, completeness, format, and replacement value. Photos optional. Import a Blu-ray.com CSV if you already catalogued discs.
Borrowers request by mail
No meetups, no maps. Members get 1 title out at a time. Postage is a separate pass-through estimate. Guests also pay a rental fee.
Ship a padded envelope
Accept unlocks addresses. Print the outbound stub and the prepaid return stub. Ship in 3–5 business days.
Clock starts on delivery
7 / 14 / 30 days. Late reminders, then a 3-day grace to mark return shipped. Miss it and it’s an auto-buyout — no daily late fees.
Membership
$15.00/mo
1 title out. $15.00/mo is access, not postage. Movie discs and music CDs default to estimated USPS Media Mail (about $8.78 on the Notice 123 fallback, often 2–8 business days). Ground Advantage ($17.50) is the faster upgrade. A title page uses an EasyPost sandbox commercial quote when that key is set. Other categories stay on Ground Advantage. Lenders earn a $1–$3 cash bounty.

Guest pricing
Rental fee + the same postage estimate + insurance. Costs more than a member loan because of the rental fee. Lenders earn ~40% of that fee.
Trust
Holds & ratings
Refundable hold is 10% of replacement value. The $5 floor is for new borrowers and open disputes; 3+ ratings at 4.0 or higher with no open dispute can hold less. Insurance slice, 48-hour arrival photos, and separate lender vs borrower scores. “New” until 3 completes.

Movies, CDs, books, magazines, comics, manga, board games, physical video games (carts, console discs, Sega CD, boxed PC). Vinyl and digital codes are out of scope.
Built for padded envelopes, not coffee shops
Street addresses live in a shipping vault. They appear on printable outbound and prepaid return stubs only after accept, then mask again after complete or cancel. In-app messages stay on the rental thread. No phone numbers.
- US-only ZIP and state validation on every address.
- We will not list water-damaged print, cracked discs, or parts-only games.
- Overdue borrowers are blocked from new rentals until the buyout is resolved.
